Your lower back isn’t tight (it’s probably this instead)

Hey,

Lately, I’ve been more aware of my own lower back- especially with lifting my baby and just being on the go a lot.

It’s a good reminder that even when you know what to do, the small things in your day still matter.

Most of the time, your lower back isn’t actually “tight” by nature…

It’s more than it’s been sitting in a rounded, slightly compressed position for too long.

So instead of trying to stretch it aggressively, try giving it a bit of space:

  • Hold onto your desk from underneath

  • Step your legs back

  • Let your chest come forward

  • Reach your spine long

  • Look up (without forcing it)

I show exactly how to do it here—>

Do this a few times during the day- especially after sitting for a while.

You should feel some space open up pretty quickly.

If you sit a lot, one small thing that can really help is having a bit more support during the day.

I like using a simple lumbar support-it helps your lower back not collapse into that rounded position and just makes sitting feel easier without you having to think about it.

If you don’t already have it, try this one
